What if I ...

Welcome to the Southington Tax Office. This office operates under the General Statutes of the State of Connecticut in conjunction with the Office of Policy and Management.

The office is responsible for collecting all money due the town on the current as well as delinquent Grand Lists for taxes, interest and fees.

All tax bills are mailed the end of June every year. Real Estate and Personal Property bills over $100.00 are due in two installments, July and January. Motor Vehicle bills are due in one installment only (July). If payments are made after August 1st (February 1st for 2nd installment), interest is charged at the rate of 1-1/2 % per month back to the original due date (18% per yr).

Supplemental Motor Vehicle bills are mailed at the end of December, due January 1, payable in full by February 1st. These taxes are for vehicles registered after October 1st but before September 30th.

If you own property in town and do not escrow with a bank, and did not receive a tax bill, or need any information, please call our office.

We also provide information requested daily by Attorneys, Realtors, banks and the public.
