Mission Statement

"The mission of the Southington Fire Department is to provide to the residents of Southington and those who pass through it fire and rescue services. To protect life and property through prevention, code enforcement, fire suppression, rescue, and emergency medical services."



NEXT TESTING PROCESS: The Southington Fire Department will accept applications for entry level Firefighter/EMT from January 16, 2007 until 1:00 p.m. Friday, February 9, 2007. Applicants must have current Connecticut EMT Certification.
A recent Candidate Physical Ability Test card (issued after 6/1/2006) will be needed in order to take the written exam that will be scheduled for early May.   • Open burning permits are not available online, you may obtain one at Fire Headquarters, 310 North Main Street, Southington, or email your request with a mailing address and one will be sent to you. If your application is approved you will be required to contact the fire department on the chosen day to notify us of your intentions and to find the State of Connecticut burning guidelines for that day.
